When describing his debut single, Senzeni Na, Mondzz says that it’s an inflective song inspired by the current political and social climate in South Africa. The rap lyrics and trap beat accompany a message which asks questions to the listener about what they are doing to improve themselves and their community. Mondzz says this is a question he also asked himself just before writing the single which takes after an old struggle song of the same title.
“Senzeni Na” which is Zulu for “What have we done” challenges the artist and listener to create a better future while also reflecting on South Africa’s past. It is the first offering by the Katlehong-native who recently moved from the South of Johannesburg to Cape Town to pursue an internship with us at Exilic Music. Mondzz first started making music in high school and we’re very excited about what is ahead for this young chap.
Congratulations on your Good Hope FM debut and many thanks to DJ Ready D and DJ Eazy for making it happen.
